EARLY YEARS

Gary Lawrence Brackett (born May 23, 1980 in Glassboro, New Jersey) is an American football linebacker for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. He was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2003. He played college football at Rutgers.

Brackett attended Glassboro High School in Glassboro, New Jersey. He was a two-time All-South Jersey selection, a two-time All-Group I choice, and a two-time All-Tri-County Conference choice.

to Captain

PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL CAREER
Brackett was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2003. Brackett was a backup his first two years until he became a starter in 2005. That year he had 127 tackles, three interceptions and a sack. In 2006 he was named defensive capatain of the Colts and had 120 tackles. He started for the Colts in their Super Bowl XLI win over the Chicago Bears. In 2007 Brackett recorded 116 tackles and four interceptions. He recorded 99 tackles in both 2008 and 2009. He started for the Colts in their Super Bowl XLIV loss to the New Orleans Saints.

COLLEGE CAREER
Brackett was a walk-on to the Rutgers University football team. By his senior year, he was captain of the defensive team and won the team’s defensive MVP honors.

Gary Brackett was an American football linebacker for the Indianapolis Colts from 2003 to 2011. Brackett served as Defensive Captain for 6 of those years, alongside Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning. In 2007 he started for the Colts in their Super Bowl XLI win over the Chicago Bears, where Coach Tony Dungy (also a Hall of Famer) was the first African American to ever win a Super Bowl. as well as, in their Super Bowl XLIV loss to the New Orleans Saints.

In addition to his experience in for-profit businesses, Gary has extensive experience in the non-profit world.  Not only has he served on numerous boards in his community, he founded Gary Brackett’s Impact Foundation in 2007, which helps low income, chronically and critically ill children, and at-risk youth gain resources through various programs. Since it’s creation, more than 200,000 families have been impacted in big meaningful ways.

Beyond Football

After leaving the field, Gary went on to receive his MBA from George Washington University in the accelerated Executive Leadership program. He was an economics major at Rutgers and always had his eye on entrepreneurship. Soon after he graduated, he decided to explore the restaurant world.

Gary is the proud owner of The Brackett Restaurant Group (BRG), which features notable brands like the Stacked Pickle, voted Indy’s #1 Neighborhood & Sports Bar by multiple publications & currently expanding its franchise ranks. other supporting restaurant brands in Indiana.

Gary has also been speaking consistently for the past 10 years, delivering various keynotes on leadership, personal development, and entrepreneurship to notable groups such as the NFL Player’s Association, Humana, True U, The Indianapolis Colts and many others.
